There is a widely held belief in Singapore that
mixing durian (fruit) and alcohol will kill you. Tony and I set out
to disprove that belief in this video. Shot in October 2006 on
Friday the 13th (not intentional) and uploaded in January 2008, I won't spoil
it for you by saying if we survived or not.
The A380 flies daily from Singapore to Sydney.
Currently (19 Nov 2007) the schedule is:
SIN - SYD, 20:30 - 07:00
SYD - SIN, 08:05 - 14:20
That means that every day at around 2pm, if the
wind is blowing from the east, the A380 will fly over my office in
Changi South. If the wind is blowing from the west, I could watch it
take off at 8:30pm but in Singapore it's always dark by then.

On a street in Bangkok Thailand, a vendor sold
deep fried bugs. Here I am eating a grasshopper, I think. Sorry
about the kid waving his hand in front of the camera.
I bought these little guys in May 2007. They do
love to eat and they can eat a lot - at least compared to fish. They
like to hang out on the tops of rocks. They also like to sit on top
of each other. I'm not sure why.
I have this Chiminea at my house in Tucson. It's
nice to sit outside on cool winter nights with a fire burning. I
took a video of it one night. Nothing exciting - just a fire
burning.
I took this video while walking along a road and
also while riding on the back of a motorbike in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)
Vietnam. Traffic can be chaotic there.

At these temple grounds in Phuket, Thailand,
people buy firecrackers and hand them to a worker who will set them
off inside this brick structure.
I went to this
bar in Orchard Towers in Singapore to watch a favorite of mine
band play. Really, I did. But look what happened in between sets.
At Clarke
Quay alongside the Singapore River, there is a reverse bungee ride.
Here is a video of a few tourists giving it a try. (This video has
no sound.)
